"Be The Key" to the Future of Foster Love Bell County!

The Foster Love House is a local nonprofit 501(c)3 located at 1003 Main St Belton, TX 76513. This house is open 24/7 to kids that have been removed from their caregivers and are awaiting placement in a foster home. This process can take hours or weeks. Having a safe place for these kids to come to relax, sleep and have access to cozy pajamas, fresh undergarments/socks and toiletries is a much better alternative to having them go to a CPS office to sleep on a blow-up mattress while they await placement.

This house is also home to the Love Closet that allows CPS/foster and kinship families to shop for necessary items like diapers, wipes, safety items and toiletries. We also stock items for our Birthday Boxes for foster kids that have a birthdays while awaiting placement. Foster Love has many other programs such as Cozy Bags, where we give warm weather gear to kids in kinship placement and the welcome bags we give to new foster placements in Bell and Coryell counties.

In 2020 we had to make the hard decision to buy the Foster Love House or risk losing it another buyer. The house payment has become a large part of our operating budget. We would like to free those funds up to invest in new programs and staff to help more kids in need. Once the house is paid off WE CAN DO JUST THAT!

Today, we are hoping you will help us make Foster Love a permanent fixture in Bell County for generations of foster kids to be able to use while they wade through the most traumatic time of their lives by making a donation to our campaign. Your donation will "Be the Key" to the future of Foster Love.

The UMHB Social Sciences Department has committed to raising $5,000.00 to "Be the Key"! UMHB Psychological Club President, Taylor Line, and UMHB Sociology Club President, Kalina Brenchley, are teaming up with their sponsor Dr. Cecilia W. Erlund to raise enough money to earn a key plaque in the Foster Love House. This plaque will be a permanent reminder of the UMHB Social Sciences commitment to foster children in this community.
